HR Business Partner / Head of HR

As a deep-tech scale-up, we build complex technology with a strong emphasis on problem-solving, ownership, and continuous learning. We are looking for our first HR leader who will build and lead the HR function end-to-end and support the company through its next phase of growth.

This role combines strategic ownership with a hands-on mindset. You will define HR foundations, implement scalable processes, and act as a trusted partner to leadership while fostering a strong and healthy company culture.

 

Your Role

As our first HR hire, you will build, structure, and lead the HR function and act as a strategic partner to management.

 

HR Strategy & Foundations

• Build and own the HR strategy aligned with business growth and company values

• Define and implement scalable HR processes, policies, and governance

• Establish HR as a trusted partner for leadership and employees

 

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Design and execute a long-term hiring strategy aligned with business needs

• Partner closely with hiring managers on workforce planning and recruiting priorities

• Continuously improve hiring processes, employer branding, and candidate experience

 

Performance, Feedback & Talent Development

• Design and implement performance management, feedback, and review cycles

• Facilitate talent reviews, calibrations, and development discussions

• Translate performance and people data into actionable development and retention initiatives

 

HR Operations & Systems

• Own and further develop Personio as the central HR system

• Ensure smooth HR operations across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, contracts, changes, offboarding)

• Improve and automate workflows to ensure efficiency and scalability

 

Culture & Employee Experience

• Actively foster a strong, inclusive, and feedback-driven culture

• Support leaders in people-related topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and team development

• Promote engagement, collaboration, and continuous learning across the organization

 

 

What You Bring

Experience & Skills

• 5–7+ years of experience in people or talent management roles, ideally as a (Senior) HR Business Partner

• Experience building or scaling HR processes in a fast-growing or complex organization

• Strong knowledge of the German HR ecosystem and HR best practices

• Hands-on experience with Personio

• Proven experience in performance management, talent development, and cultural initiatives

• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel

• Fluency in English and German (written and spoken)
